Miles Brooks, owner and dedicated craftsman, started Milestone Remodeling with the goal of helping neighbors love their homes. His top priority was—and is—to offer general contracting services focused on quality, integrity, and straightforward communication. In short, he founded Milestone Remodeling with the goal of making it the kind of company with which he himself would like to do business.

Miles was born in the Isles Of Scilly, England, and studied mechanical engineering at college. He began his carpentry career at the International Boatbuilding Training Center, where he trained as a wooden boat builder. After completing his training, he worked in England for several years, constructing the interiors of sailing yachts. On the side, he and a friend rebuilt a wrecked wooden yacht, originally built in 1911, and later sailed it from England to the Caribbean.

In 1985, Miles moved to the United States and began applying his carpentry skills to home remodeling. For over a decade, he worked in Washington, DC, as a lead carpenter and later as a production manager for a remodeling company that came to specialize in handicap-accessible projects.

In 1996, he founded Milestone Remodeling, and soon after brought the company to Boulder, Colorado. Throughout his career, Miles has always enjoyed being a part of the community and building relationships with clients while building beautiful and functional spaces for them to enjoy.

At the age of 34, Miles began racing mountain bikes; he won many East Coast races as well as a 24-hour relay race prior to moving to Colorado. Here, he qualified for the U.S. Masters National Team in 2001, but retired to start a family before ever pulling on the jersey at a race.

Miles lives in Boulder with his wife and two children, several bikes and a pop-up camper.
